Yes as the name sounded it dedicated to women. The day celebrated all over the world because of their dedication to their social. Political, cultural, economic achievements and their significant contributions to society.

It also talks about the importance of gender equality. On an international women’s day, people from all over the world come together to partake. This day is also associated with feminism and equal rights for women. Since it has begun March 8 Celebrated as International Women’s Day.

As the united nations adopted it in 1977. The day was celebrated in socialist and Communist countries. united nations celebrate the day on the basis of different themes. International Women’s Day starts in 1907. with the combinations of textile women workers in New York.

This workers and women’s campaign for suffrage.

So almost 15,000 women working in needle and textile industries marched through New York City. As the demonstrators sought to commemorate police brutality encountered in a  workers demonstration in 1857. They demanded shorter work hours. Better pay and voting rights.

The first international women’s day written as singular “woman”— was held across the United States on February 28, 1909.  On the previous day of Russian Revolution. A massive demonstration took place.

The protest was against deteriorating living conditions. Because as there was lack of fundamental food supplies and the shortage of goods and things. Mainly women took part in this event. So soviet union has celebrated Woman’s Day in February. After that Lenin made the celebration official.

So from 2014, it celebrates in more than a 100 countries. As this celebrated in some countries like. Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Burkina Faso, Cambodia. China (for women only), Cuba, Georgia, Guinea-Bissau. Eritrea, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Madagascar (for women only), Moldova, Mongolia. Montenegro, Nepal (for women only), Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uganda, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, and Zambia. and more countries as well.
