Social media giant Facebook declared a complete lot of different features at its this year Facebook F8 developers conference. Along with the keynote by Facebook CEO greeting anxiety from app developers after the company paused third-party app review in the wake of the Cambridge Analytica scandal.

Facebook’s New ‘Dating’ Feature:

Are you still single? Don’t worry about it. Because social media giant doesn’t want you to remain single for age-long. Facebook is launching a new dating feature. This feature will permit you to make your profile that will just be visible to other Facebook people who is still single. FaceDate is a new feature. It will match users profile based on all its information with others profile. To get potential suitors and conversation will happen in a dedicated inbox.

And don’t worry. Neither this feature will match your profile with your buddies, nor your buddies will not be able to view your dating profile. Zuckerberg said, This feature “not just for hookups”. It has been created for “real long-term relationships”. Shortly after the declaration of this feature, the share price of Match Group, the parent company of Match.com, fell twenty-two percent. And IAC, the parent of both hookup app Tinder and Match Group, fell more than sixteen percent.

Clear History:

The company had been embrangling in debates over its information sharing works after the Cambridge Analytica scandal, forcing users to think about how the social media manages people privacy, receives information and uses it. Now to assist peoples to protect their privacy, the company disclosed a new feature, named “Clear History”. It will let people clear their browsing history on Facebook. This feature will allow users to see the websites and apps that send Facebook data when peoples use them. Remove this data from peoples account, and turn off Facebook’s ability to collect the information “associated with your account” going forward. Once user clears his/her history, Facebook will eliminate identifying data. So a history of the sites and apps user have used will not be connected to a users account. It is unclear how social media giant defines that feature.

However, the company will take a few months to create the Clear History feature. Erin Egan is a Facebook VP and chief privacy officer. “academics, policymakers, privacy advocates, and regulators to receive their input on our approach,” He said in a blog post. Mark Zuckerberg said, “After going through our methods, this is an instance of the kind of administration we think you should have”. The company also informed peoples that by using the Clear History tool. They might be needed to sign back in everytime they want to log into their account.

Facebook Re-Opens App Reviews:

In the wake of the Analytica scandal, the company paused 3rd-party app review. But now Facebook CEO declared that Facebook is re-opening app reviews for developers starting Tuesday. The relationship between Facebook and app developers has gotten difficult since it was unveiled how Cambridge Analytica improperly collected and misused information on maybe eighty-seven million people to reportedly help Trump win the United States presidency in 2016.

The company paused review of new apps after it was reported that a 3rd-party app developer named Aleksandr Kogan. Kogan built personality quiz app and gathered personal information on millions of peoples who took the quiz, delivered over the information to Cambridge Analytica. Zuckerberg said, “I know it hasn’t been easy being a developer these past couple months, and that’s probably an understatement”. The company has re-opened app review, but the method has developed a bit. Facebook will now “require business verification for apps that need access to specialized APIs or extended Login permissions.”

Language Translations:

The company has introduced chat translation within Messenger through its M Suggestions assistant, which will translate chats in real time. However, the feature will launch to peoples in the US throughout this year and will just translate English to Spanish conversions. In the next weeks, all US Messenger people will get access to this feature. The company is also building simplifications to Messenger’s interface. Since the app’s quest to embrace businesses, Stories, visual sharing have made it bloated. Facebook has re-designed Messenger by removing the games and camera tabs. The company has also introduced a new way for the user to share from their apps.
