Dexter Fletcher returns to the helm of Freddie Mercury biopic
The actor has quit the upcoming film which will star Ben Whishaw as the late Queen singer. sources say they were some back and forth. not just with king and Fletcher. but Whishaw who also wanted changes made to the script. But this changes made Fletcher go.
So it is been announced. dexter fletcher is to take over behind the camera for this upcoming film. which is named Bohemian Rhapsody. as previously poised to direct the biopic. but was let go by producer Graham King.
At its core, the film will focus on the formative years of the band. and culminate with the famous, stadium-rocking performance. at 1985’s Live Aid event. With May and the rest holding the needed rights to songs. such as ‘We Are The Champions’, ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’ and ‘You’re My Best Friend’, they have more of a say in what goes into any biopic.

Now, this is the second shake-up film after Sacha Baron Cohen signed. Queen drummer Roger Taylor previously revealed that Baron Cohen was ‘too funny’ to play the late singer.Writer Peter Morgan could kick off pre-production on the film.
Whishaw is still aboard, and all involved are now looking for another director to keep things on track and the planned summer shoot alive.
We thought there has to be no distraction in the Freddie movie. You have to really suspend that disbelief – the man who plays Freddie, you have to really believe is Freddie. We didn’t think that could really happen with Sacha.
