Google Smartphone:
Earlier Google used to partner with phone makers in order to release its phones. The company has worked in Huawei, LG, HTC, and Samsung in the past in order to release its Nexus phones. But a few years ago, this equation changed and Google dumped its brand name Nexus and offered Pixel and Pixel XL phones.
However, earlier this week, few reports surfaced online. It revealing that the company is planning to release a mid-range Pixel phone this year. Now, a Chinese blog has reported that Google will be releasing three phones this year. The phones called Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL and a third mid-range Pixel device. The blog reports that the mid-range phone is codenamed as ‘Desire’ and it will run Android Go operating system.
Desire:
It is noteworthy that the company acquired HTC’s device engineering team. And the Taiwanese company’s mid-range phone product portfolio is also called Desire. If this is true then the maximum of the Android fans will celebrate as the Nexus lineup of phones got a lot of prosperity. The Google Nexus phones were chosen for their high-end specs, stock Android operating system and lower price tag as compared to the other Android phones. Apart from this, another report has popped online revealing the company has accidentally leaked the name of its next-generation flagship phone.
The name was 1st spotted by Developers blog in a commit. Titled “Cherrypick ‘Add device config to choose which Auto Selection Network UI to use”. The commit reads, “This change added the config because the HAL V_1_2 just supports Google Pixel 3. And the new Auto Selection Network UI is based on HAL V_1_2. So we set the flag to decide which Auto Selection Network UI should be used based on the device type. This thread reports that the upcoming Google flagship phone will be called as Google Pixel 3 and as always it’s big screen variant will be known as Pixel 3 XL.
